Raw clay vs. glaze
What the finish changes, and what it doesn't.

Raw clay is left unglazed on the outside. It breathes a little, so the soil dries a bit faster — good for succulents and anything that hates wet feet. It darkens when wet and can show a pale bloom of minerals over time. A damp cloth takes most of it off.
Glazed pots are sealed. Soil stays moist longer, and the outside wipes clean. The speckles in Iron Speckle come from iron in the clay body itself, so no two pots have the same pattern.
All of our pots are stoneware fired to a high temperature. They're for indoor use or covered porches; we don't recommend leaving them outside through a hard freeze.
