Choosing a pot size
One size up. Not three.

When a plant has filled its nursery pot — roots circling the bottom, water running straight through — move it to a pot about 2 inches wider. That's it.
A much bigger pot holds more wet soil than the roots can reach. The soil stays damp for days, and that's where most indoor plants get into trouble.
Our sizes are listed by inside width at the rim, so you can measure the nursery pot and add two.
